Professor Allan Hutchinson appointed member of Board of Directors for Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership

The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) , established in 2003, is a public-private partnership whose mission is to accelerate a sustainable shift to low carbon vehicles and fuels in the UK and in doing so stimulate opportunities for UK business.

The organisation is based in Birdcage Walk, London and aims to encourage research, demonstration and commercialisation of low carbon vehicle technologies as well as contribute towards the setting and achievement of UK Government targets for carbon reduction from the road transport sector.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences became a member of LowCVP in the autumn of 2013 and Professor Allan Hutchinson was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors with effect from early 2014 for 3 years. When asked what his appointment means for the Department Allan said,

We should have a direct opportunity to put forward thinking and findings into the Partnership’s activities, benefit from information generated by LowCVP very quickly, and link with potential research partners directly.
