Jemima Green

Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?

Maths, Physics and Chemistry A-Levels at Monkton Combe School, Bath.

What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?

I had the right grades for the course, the City of Oxford was a good place too and I knew people at the local church I was going to attend.

What did you think of the course while studying here?

I enjoyed most aspects. I enjoyed the friendships with both students and lecturers the most.

What advice do you have for others?

Work hard (but not too hard) and make the most of the time - full time jobs are hard!

After graduating from Brookes what were the next steps for your career and where are you working now?

I applied for a job in Oxford working as an office and events manager for a charity I was involved in for years (started two years after my final exam). I am now working in London as a Personal Assistant to the Director of a charity.

What so far have been the best moments?

Although I enjoyed being at University, I really valued getting on with starting in a full time job and learning new skills and applying practical skills and knowledge in the workplace.

What so far have been the most challenging moments?

Working out what career path to take, knowing what practical aspects of working life I enjoy/ am good at and where to apply those skills in the workplace.

Jemima studied Mathematical Sciences BSc (Hons) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences

I enjoyed the friendships with both students and lecturers the most.
